Celebration of Light – Mexico

All eyes were on Mexico’s fireworks team last night at English Bay

One last fireworks evening remains this coming Saturday night. This time it will be a “tribute” to China (does this mean it will not be China itself?)

2009 HSBC CELEBRATION OF LIGHT – CHINA

Saturday, August 1st was China’s turn to wow the crowd at the HSBC Celebration of Light.  Here is a short photographic summary of the evening…

It’s 8:15pm and a sea of people has already formed along the shores of First Beach at English Bay

Almost Showtime
Just before showtime, at 10pm

Rushing Home

THE TULIPS ARE OUT!

Great weekend we’ve had! :)

I would definitely recommend you go to English Bay and Stanley Park these days as the tulips are in full bloom and some late blooming cherry blossoms and other varieties of flowers make for a colorful and very pleasant outing around downtown Vancouver.

ENJOYING THE SUNSET AT ENGLISH BAY

Solar Clock at Sunset

Sunsets at English Bay are spectacular!!! The best way to experience the sunset, in my opinion, is over a romantic dinner in one of the few waterfront restaurants near the corner of Denman St. and Beach Av.  If you’re on a budget, picnicking alongside the sandy beach works too. And if that doesn’t inspire you, Denman St. has tons of dining opportunities for you to choose from — take your pick. ;)
